25 dating 18 year old

My ex who is 25 just got into a relationship with an 18 year old. Share Share this post on Digg Del. Personally I don't think that is too great an age difference I did think that my 35 year old husband hooking up with a 22 year old was too great an age difference though - but of course I would think that!

I'm 19 and would feel strange with a 25yo, but I think it's more common for women to date older guys than the other way around. It indicates some power issues but it is legal and he is your ex and can date anybody he wants of legal age. If it's healthy and there is a solid foundation, good for them. But personally, I wince at relationships like that.

I feel each partner is in two completely different worlds. Maybe it's just me though? A strong majority of my friends we're all around always seem involved with girls who are 18 or barely No "issues" at all. A 25 year old who wouldn't dig a girl of 18 would worry me. It's all above board and not out of the ordinary.

I ask because I wish I could ease the minds of the couple about this whole thing, the male seems especially uncomfortable about others judging them so much.

People should just be happy that theres a couple that love and look after each other. Is there something I cant see here? Theyre both good friends of mine and I wish the best for them.

It's weird, but apparently such weirdness is common in our society. Look at how prevalent it is among the media, political, and religious classes. Even Prince Charles was creepy enough to marry a year-old when he was Most people got used to that. What does 'could of' even mean? OP, you only have one post. Are you trolling us? If you're not, then I'm not sure what the issue is.

IS the entire ppl community hating on them, or just a few? Trust me, its a bad idea. Remember what you were like at 18? Remember how much you've changed? She's going to go through a similar transformation, and you don't want to be a part of that. Also, she's a co-worker. Madness lies this way. If she acts like a kid, then it's not worth it. If she can be mature and act like an adult, then go for it. If you're both supporting yourselves, working there, then consider it.

26 year old guy dating an 18 year old girl? Would that be wrong? - The Student Room

If she's in high school living with her parents, and you're paying car payments, it might not work. Once you're an adult it becomes more about life stage and maturity than age. Might as well try. I think the bigger problem would be dating a coworker and then having it possibly backfire. I've heard the age gap calculation is half your age plus seven. Like anything, as you apparently already know, it depends on a lot of different factors. Oh they should be of legal age, so you're good there, but IMO it would probably be better if they were also no longer in high school.

Welcome to Reddit,

Pretty sure she's out of high school. It just seems so weird to me, even though I'm not that old. But it still seems sooo young and I'm not sure I can convince myself otherwise. If it seems weird to you then you probably shouldn't date the person. Going into a relationship with such baggage isn't the best way to start something healthy. Just know that it isn't a big deal, especially considering your age difference and the the results are commonly relative. Totally depends on the "maturity" thing.

Sounds like you are on one hand looking for some advice, but on another hand looking for permission. I will give you that permission. It is totally reasonable to hope that you guys are on a similar plane of enlightenment, if not, well you tried and you are the better , more experienced person for it.

Yes, OP, date the 18 year old. You already know the answer, you are just rubbing it in at this point, right? You may feel weird because it's unusual from a social perspective. It's not unheard of though, and like others have suggested, it's really about maturity.

dating an 18 year old... - pano t

If she behaves like a real adult though, I'd consider emphasis on "consider" going for it if that's how you feel about her. I'm 19 and I dated someone 11 years older than me. I really loved him, it was a beautiful relationship but as most people here are saying, it most likely won't be your last relationship. If you aren't looking to settle down and get married yet, she probably isn't , go for it. Just know that it most likely won't be a long term relationship. For what it's worth, I don't regret it one bit. It was something very significant in my life and my first love and I grew so much from it and learned so much.

Just be ready to go at her pace, don't expect her to follow yours.
